A TACTILE LOVE NOTE TO ALL THE LIVES I’VE LIVED.
This piece is my interpretation of the embodiment of the cycles of transformation, vulnerability, and rebirth that define the human experience. A convergence of earthen materials and intimate handwork, this piece is a vessel of memory—layered with the weight of time, the echoes of past selves, and the enduring pulse of change. The interplay of textures speaks to the tension of opposing forces—softness against strength, fluidity against structure, destruction against renewal. Every mark, every stitched line, every embedded stone carries the imprint of a moment once lived, a self once inhabited.
This painting is an act of acknowledgment, honoring all the versions of ourselves that have shaped our journey. Some of these selves are tender, still whispering the echoes of innocence, while others are jagged—formed by hardship, survival, and the lessons carved into our bones. Together, they create a living archive, a testament to growth, imperfection, and the beauty of becoming.
The importance of reflection— personal evolution and an invitation—to embrace every past and present self, to hold space for the transitions, and to find meaning in the fragments that compose us.
